Dr. Jessica Ruygt (pronounced "ROO-jit") grew up in Napa, California. After completing her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at UC Davis, she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, to attend the veterinary college at the University of Edinburgh. While living in Scotland, she was able to sample such culinary delights as "haggis" and "black pudding", and learned to ceilidh (a Scottish dance.) She completed her degree in 2013 and joined BVH in 2014. Dr. Ruygt has a particular interest in nutrition and cardiology. In her free time, she is an avid knitter and loves to bake.
