What We Offer

We offer variety of rehabilitation and wellness services to support the health and wellbeing of our companion animal patients.

  • Therapeutic Exercises—A broad category of targeted exercises using specialized equipment to help retain muscle mass after surgery or injury, build core body strength and conditioning, assist in weight loss for obese or at-risk patients, and to retrain motor memory for patients suffering from a loss of sensation due to neurologic injury or disease. Each session also includes cryotherapy, range of motion exercises, stretching, and simulated weight bearing as appropriate.
  • Therapeutic Ultrasound—Provides long-lasting deep tissue heating for relief of pain and chronic inflammation; also used to stimulate cell growth and healing of tissues after surgery or injury.
  • Electrotherapy (aka E-Stim, NMES, or TENS)—Direct stimulation of muscles and nerve endings to reduce bruising and swelling and help maintain normal muscle mass and function after surgery, injury, or neurologic impairment; also provides deep, lasting pain relief for both acute and chronic conditions such as soft tissue injury (sprains, muscle tears), osteoarthritis, and post-surgical healing.
  • Laser Therapy (coming in September 2011)—Focused administration of excitatory photons that painlessly penetrate skin to directly stimulate cells in damaged tissue, producing chemical signals that reduce pain and inflammation, speed healing, and aid tissue growth. Will treat a variety of conditions, including osteoarthritis; skin wounds; infections of the ears, skin, and feet; hotspots; lick granulomas; anal gland abscesses; chronic nasal congestion; stomatitis (inflammation of the gums); sterile urinary tract disease in cats; and post-surgical swelling and pain.
  • Underwater Treadmill (coming in February 2012)—Provides relief of acute and chronic inflammatory disease by allowing controlled activity under reduced weight-bearing conditions; also allows gentle conditioning and strength training in cases where movement on dry land is difficult or impossible due to neurologic disease, severe debilitation from illness, obesity, and chronic severe arthritis.
  • Medical and Routine Boarding—An affordable option for stable patients requiring some after-hours supervision or treatments who do not necessarily need overnight hospitalization at an emergency clinic or critical care facility. This includes post-surgical patients who are prescribed additional monitoring and pain control before being discharged to the owner, renal failure or pancreatitis patients on 24-hour fluids, wound care patients with frequent bandage changes, and diabetics or patients that are difficult to medicate or monitor at home. Also available for patients with managed chronic illness whose owners prefer to have their pets medicated and cared for by a veterinarian while they are traveling instead of a traditional boarding facility.
