Dr. Debbie Sharp
Dr. Debbie Sharp was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She decided to become a veterinarian when she was 12 years old and her horse required surgery. Her veterinarian let her be the assistant during surgery and from that day on she was hooked. She graduated from Cal Poly with a BS in Animal Science in 1992 and Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.
Her family has lived in Brentwood and she has worked at the Brentwood Veterinary Hospital for 16 years. Her husband, Brian, sells real estate and owns Sharp Realty. They have four children - Austin 13, Megan 10 and her twins, Brandon and Brianna are 7 years old. She and her family enjoy riding horses, roping, running barrels, swimming, water skiing, camping, and working out their ten acre ranch. She can't imagine life without being a veterinarian and a mom; they are two of the best jobs in the world.
Dr. Megan Tracewell
Dr. Megan Tracewell is a recent graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and enjoyed studying all types of animals at school, but is looking forward to being able to focus on dogs, cats, and pet exotics in practice. Dr. Tracewell currently resides in Lodi with her husband Jason, Nanook the cat, and Panda the rabbit. The family is currently househunting here in Brentwood and hope to relocate very soon.
Dr. Tracewell is a 1998 graduate of Acalanes High School in Lafayette, and she still has family in the area. Megan completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at UC San Diego, and also earned a NCAA All-American Award in Track and Field while at UCSD. Megan can’t wait to establish great relationships in the community, so come by and say hello!
Dr. Duane Schnittker
Dr. Duane Schnittker, founder of Brentwood Veterinary Hospital, has retired after 35 years of practice. Dr. Schnittker has been practicing here in Brentwood since 1979, and built our current location in 1990. He has been a mentor for many young veterinarians and not only built our building, but has built the groundwork for our great staff as well.
Dr. Schnittker is still a partial owner and will continue to make his presence known around the hospital. As always you will be able to find Dr. Schnittker on the golf courses in and around Brentwood.
Dr. Cory Sims
After eight wonderful years here at Brentwood Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Cory Sims moved to the east coast to help train up and coming veterinarians in physical therapy and rehabilitation at North Caroline University. We will miss her greatly and know that many of you will as well. Her final day at BVH was January 16, 2013. We wish her and her family the best of luck!
