Dr. Thomas Odom

Dr. Thomas Odom

Dr. Thomas Odom has been with Brentwood Veterinary Hospital since 2000. Dr Odom is a native of northern Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his DVM at the University of Tennessee in 1999. He completed an internship at VCA Sacramento Area Medical Group, a large emergency and referral center, in 2000. His professional interests include immunology and infectious disease.

Dr. Odom is a rabid baseball fan and can usually be found behind 3rd base at the A’s games. He lives in Brentwood with his wife, children, and an overly flatulent Labrador.

Dr. Cory Sims

Dr. Cory Sims

Dr. Cory Sims has been practicing veterinary medicine in California since 2003. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota and received a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Dr. Sims’ particular interests within veterinary medicine are diseases and allergies of the skin (dermatology), diseases of the urinary tract, and animal rehabilitation after injury or surgery. In her leisure time, Dr. Sims spends as much time as possible in the company of her young children, who are endlessly amusing and deeply inspiring. She also enjoys Sunday morning bike rides with her charming husband and she is known to quilt or crochet in rare quiet moments.

In addition to her husband and children, Dr. Sims lives in Brentwood with her “teacher’s pet” Border Collie, Belle, a goofy mix breed with boundless energy named June Bug and a very patient cat named Beatrice.

Dr. Amy Olsen

Dr. Amy Olsen

Dr. Amy Olsen joined Brentwood Veterinary Hospital in 2006. Born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Olsen migrated toward the coast to attend school and is a graduate of UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to that, she received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Go Wildcats!

After spending much of her time at Davis working with both horses and small animals Dr. Olsen has found her major areas of interest include ultrasound, surgery and orthopedic disease, and anything related to the German Shepherd.

Outside the hospital Dr. Olsen can usually be found enjoying either the snow or sun of Lake Tahoe as she enjoys snowboarding and wakeboarding. Currently, she resides in Walnut Creek with her dogs Ripley, a beautiful German Shepherd and Gator, a bouncing Yellow Lab.

Dr. Debbie Sharp

Dr. Debbie Sharp

Dr. Debbie Sharp was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She decided to become a veterinarian when she was 12 years old and her horse required surgery. Her veterinarian let her be the assistant during surgery and from that day on she was hooked. She graduated from Cal Poly with a BS in Animal Science in 1992 and Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.

Her family has lived in Brentwood and she has worked at the Brentwood Veterinary Hospital for 12 years. Her husband, Brian, sells real estate and owns Sharp Realty. They have four children – Austin 8, Megan 5 and her twins, Brandon and Brianna are almost three years old. She and her family enjoy riding horses, roping, swimming, water skiing, camping, and just about anything outside. She can’t imagine life without being a veterinarian and a mom; they are two of the best jobs in the world.

Dr. Megan Tracewell

Dr. Megan Tracewell

Dr. Megan Tracewell is a recent graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and enjoyed studying all types of animals at school, but is looking forward to being able to focus on dogs, cats, and pet exotics in practice. Dr. Tracewell currently resides in Lodi with her husband Jason, Nanook the cat, and Panda the rabbit. The family is currently househunting here in Brentwood and hope to relocate very soon.

Dr. Tracewell is a 1998 graduate of Acalanes High School in Lafayette, and she still has family in the area. Megan completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at UC San Diego, and also earned a NCAA All-American Award in Track and Field while at UCSD. Her other hobbies include visiting Disneyland as often as possible, movies, video games, puzzles, and board games. Megan can’t wait to establish great relationships in the community, so come by and say hello!

Dr. Duane Schnittker

Dr. Duane Schnittker

Dr. Duane Schnittker, founder of Brentwood Veterinary Hospital, has retired after 35 years of practice. Dr. Schnittker has been practicing here in Brentwood since 1979, and built our current location in 1990. He has been a mentor for many young veterinarians and not only built our building, but has built the groundwork for our great staff as well.

Dr. Schnittker is still a partial owner and will continue to make his presence known around the hospital. As always you will be able to find Dr. Schnittker on the golf courses in and around Brentwood.
